BOSS is the back-office solution for branches of the Scotch
Malt Whisky Society.
- Administration of membership information
- Sending information ("Info Packs") to prospective members
- Sending membership bills to new members
- Sending membership renewals and reminders to expiring members
- If desired, automatic extensions of memberships as a
"member-get-member" bonus.
- Automatic generation of the membership updates required by
headquarters in Scotland.
- Basic reports on your membership.
- And, of course, requesting membership cards from Scotland!

Please
note that - in the course of final testing - Scotland requested a small change in the export format.
Be sure to download and install the following update before using BOSS to request membership cards!
BOSS Update to
Version 1.2.1
This update is a self-extracting ZIP-archive. This archive
contains a single file "boss.exe".
Just replace your old "boss.exe" with this new version.
Please note: this is only an update - you must
first install the full software from the CD!
We have restricted the base system to membership administration, in
order to keep the costs down for small and new branches. Furthermore, when
a branch purchases BOSS, the
costs of the base system are paid in part by headquarters in Scotland. The
cost to you - the franchise - are GBP 200.
Larger branches may be interested in additional modules, as
described below. If you are interested in these additional features,
please contact us for further information.
Accounting module
- Automatically export all financial transactions for memberships and
sales to your accounting software.
Sales module
- Administration of sales articles: whiskies, dry goods, and other
articles that your branch may sell.
- A cash-register function
- that serves as an order entry system

- Detailed reports on your membership.

Cash register module
- Provides a cash-register interface for your Members' Room.
- Transactions are integrated into the main database, generating
packing slips for ordered goods, bills for members who pay by invoice,
etc.
Web-shop module
- The web-shop module works together with software on our web-site.
- The contents are generated automatically by BOSS, and exported to
the web-site. That means that your web-site is always up-to-date.
- We can also provide complete web-hosting and web-site creation
services.
